I posted something to the effect " this young lady has done more for the Indy 500 this year than all the years I've been watching" well . it seems as though the honeymoon is over (or getting close to it) . it looks like Mrs. Patrick's driving skills are lagging , which goes to show you beauty will only take you so far . don't get me wrong I like Danica in my opinion , the Indy 500 this year was very exciting even though the final lap was under yellow . but it still was a nailbiting experience for me . I wanted to see a woman when the Indy 500 for the first time just like a few years back . I wanted to see George Mack (African-American) win the Indy 500 and the same can be said for and his name escapes me right now . a Asian gentlemen who was racing that year also . I always want to see someone being the first in their particular culture to break new ground . the same holds true for Danica I would love to see her win . but I'm hoping she doesn't get caught in the media hype and become just another pretty face . good luck in 2006 . I hope you take the checkered flag

George Bush Friend or President?

I honestly

like George Bush he seems like one of those type of guys that has a really good personality great at parties . you know the type of guy when you're at a party , and you yell out" hey George do that trick with the lighter fluid like you did the last party" the type of guy . you probably would sit down and watch a football game with that type of friend always fun . all the time , but I don't like my friends to be my president . I have friends , just like him the exact same personality . those qualities that just mention are not qualities , I want in a president . I dealt want to hang out with a president . I want him behind his desk , doing his job and not somewhere fishing or on a ranch , riding horses . I think you John Kerry had of picked up on this friendship aspect that I'm speaking of his campaign slogans should have been" George Bush . not for president . he makes a better friend"

The Color Lines are Blurring

Maybe it's my age but I remember a time when there were certain stereotypes that you did not want to admit to but did acknowledge they were somewhat true . when it came to black and white , but as I look at today's culture and individuals and to be quite honest I like what I'm seeing for instance . I remember when I was younger , and I was in high school , and we used to say . only white girls had flat butts have you seen Britney Spears lately I also remember saying they were only certain sports that black people participated in for instance , hockey , soccer , swimming and diving, golf all the sports that I just mentioned have people of color or an African-American's participating in them . or if you want to look over into the genre of singing . there are always stereotypes , Tina Marie back in the eighties shattered that stereotype and in her footsteps had been a multitude of talented individuals they were not white but still very soulful and then finally , hopping over into crime . there was always unspoken myth that people of color did not do crazy crimes outside of the stereo typical on the corner drug seller to words (Beltway sniper) . I remember when that whole unfortunate ordeal was unfolding . they had every expert profiler on the news informing us as a viewer . what he would look like I was just as shocked as everyone else to find out that it was to black men I guess the reason for this blogs is not of pride is not a shame either . just look around before you assume because the color lines are blurring , and also cultural in my opinion . that's a good thing . hopefully , it means that we are finally starting to understand one another . I won't be naïve or stupid and sit here and say racism does not exist . its around , it's just getting harder to subscribe to that archaic way of thinking

One thing about being disabled

is the technology that goes into making wheelchairs these days is amazing . if you can think about it . they probably have designed a wheelchair for it there is a company out of Sweden that designed the type of wheelchair that I have . it is all-terrain wheelchair . I enjoy going hiking off-roading biking long distances , and I really have a ball one I go to the local ice rink and get my chair up to top speed and do sliding . like I said these aren't your grandfather's wheelchairs

My childhood home

This is where I called home. I will always have fond memories of this house. Even though its bulldoze down now but I will always have memories of first its where I had my first kiss in the backyard. Next to the garage is also the first place that I came home to after the accident. Almost a year of physical rehabilitation it was the only place that I could think of just simply wanting to go back home. The house was modified to accommodate my wheelchair.
